Top hair trends for spring/summer

With Paris fashion week in full-swing, many trendsetters will be thinking about how to channel the latest hair trends in order to look their best. But although the fashion world may be looking ahead to Autumn/Winter 2013, I’m going to focus on the stylish spring/summer looks, as these hairstyles will be more relevant at the moment, with Spring just around the corner.

Whether your hair is long or short, fine or thick, there’s a wide range of on-trend looks that you can achieve in a flash!

Keep it Simple

If you like rolling out of bed in the morning and find that you are quite comfortable with leaving the house in five minutes, then this simple, tousled look is definitely for you.

This hair style requires minimal effort, as it’s just a case of leaving your locks so that they look slightly waved and effortless. Perhaps your hair doesn’t have much of a natural wave to it? If not, wash your hair at night, blow dry it slightly and leave it plaited until the morning.

Remove the plait, tousle the hair with a styling spray and voila!
Casual Up-do

Did you like the chignon style bun that’s been tried and tested by catwalk designers? In past seasons, the chignon has been worn super slicked back and neat, but this season the chignon is loose, elegant and messy.

So no need for maximum hold hairspray or grips! Simply twist your hair up into a knot and allow pieces of hair to fall down for a natural and low-maintenance look.
 The Classic

If you like throwing your hair up out of your way, you’ll be glad to know that the pony tail is back. The spring/summer trends suggest that this seasons’ ponytail should be worn low, at the nape of the neck or looped round and tied with a black elastic band.
Change your parting

One of the easiest ways to channel a new hair trend is to change your existing look by adapting your hair colour, or changing something as simple as your parting. Perhaps you are used to a side parting and maybe want to try parting your hair in the middle?

Hair can be stubborn at times, and the parting may need a little training to stay in place. But the more times you blow dry it with the parting in its new position, the better it will stay!
The spring/summer hair trends require very little effort, so we can all rejoice and enjoy that extra few minutes in bed each morning, and still leave with our hair looking on-trend and fabulous.
