Neal's Yard Remedies blogger event in Leeds

Last week, I attended a blogger event in Leeds. I was absolutely chuffed that we finally got an interesting blogger event in this northern city, as most good events seem to be happening in London.

This particular event was arranged by Neal’s Yard Remedies, which is a lovely little beauty shop in County Arcade just off Briggate in Leeds city centre. The event was filled with lovely northern bloggers, including my dear friend Kristina from Mode of Style (who was nice enough to supply me with her high quality photos), and we all had a nice little mingle session.

Neal’s Yard Remedies first started up in Covent Garden more than 30 years ago, and they focus solely on natural and organic health and beauty products, based on herbs and essential oils.

When I first stepped into the shop last Wednesday I was hit by the lovely smell that filled the shop. I tried some products during the event, such as the lovely Melissa Hand Cream with revitalising lemon balm (add to Christmas wish list – check!).

All bloggers that attended the event was also offered a teaser treatment, and I chose the shoulder and neck massage. The masseuse used Neal’s Yard Remedies’ own blend of essential oils for the massage, which was absolutely amazing.

Overall, the event was really lovely, and staff treated us all very well and were very social. Supplying us with what seemed like endless amounts of organic Prosecco and cheese and crackers was also a plus.

I left the event feeling very happy and relaxed after my massage (and alcoholic drinks) and I also received a little goodie bag with gorgeous smelling aromatic bath oil and foam.

Lady Gaga for Versace

A while ago there were rumours that Lady Gaga was working together with Versace… She named one of the tracks on her new album ‘Donatella’, and when news were leaked Versace themselves tweeted using the hashtag #VersaceLovesGaga. Pretty obvious!

Anyhow, now it has finally been confirmed – Lady Gaga is in fact the new official face of Versace’s latest campaign, in which she has been styled to look like the fashion item herself, with platinum blonde, straight hair, and a deep tan. It’s kind of scary how much Lady Gaga actually looks like a younger version of Donatella Versace in this photo.

I actually can’t wait to see the rest of the Gaga/Versace collection. Versace always makes such stunning pieces, and I’m certain this collection will be just as fabulous!

Japanese style Autumn tunic

Oh, how I love unusual clothes!
This dark forest green tunic was a present from a friend who recently visited New York, and she brought it back all across the Atlantic to me!
The tunic is handmade by the exclusive brand Nanako, and is made of a lovely light material.
It's a flowing shape with uneven lengths, and to give it a bit more of a shape friendly fit I've added a tight waist belt to it.

I must say I'm feeling a bit bohemian in this green, flowing creation, so I've paired the tunic with a pair of "hippie" earrings made of green thread.

My new black mid-calf boots also came in handy when finishing off this outfit. I absolutely love the ruched detailing and all the buckles - it really makes the boots look more interesting.

This dress is just perfect for autumn, and can be worn with a variety of garments to complement it. I prefer it with tights and a simple long sleeved, tight top underneath, but I'll definitely experiment with some other styles as well.

What do you think of this Nanako dress?
