Autumn outfit - green skater dress

After I bought my first ever skater dress this summer I was hooked on the style, and when I spotted this military green skater dress in New Look a while ago I was hooked at first sight. I really love the shape of skater dresses; tight at the top and flared from the waist - so flattering.
This dress has also got a deep cut in the back, which is nice... but it's also a bit annoying as you can see the bra straps a little bit. Today I have matched this green skater dress with a cream scarf with teal, grey and yellow patterns that I bought in an independent little shop in the White Rose center in Leeds a couple of years ago, as well as with black tights and a pair of brown suede wedge boots with lace-up details in the front. I am really sorry but I have no clue where the boots are from as I got them from a friend of mine, and she doesn't know either!
Whenever I'm wearing scarves I prefer to have my hair up, as I think it's a nicer looking combination.
The earrings are a bit oriental/bohemian inspired, and they're from Accessorize.

Cowl neck and mocha drinking

Note to self: don’t go into Leeds for a shopping trip on the first Saturday after payday!

Oh my! So crowded! On days like that you really have to make sure to stay far away from shops such as Primark! I hate that shop anyway, but sometimes I guess you just have to go in there (you know, when you need to buy cheap socks and underwear, or just very basic stuff).
I went into town on the Saturday 2 weeks ago, and I ended up buying myself a pair of dark moss green jeans from Next, and 2 tops from H&M.
Here’s me in the H&M fitting room trying on what was going to be one of my new tops.
What caught my eye about this top was the cowl neck, and the nice and light material. I actually liked it so much that I decided to get the same top in a plum purple colour as well! I do that a lot, actually… when I like something I don’t mind buying it in several different colours.
Here you can see me wearing the purple H&M top the other day at a Starbucks lunchbreak hang-out. The purple matches my cute silver earrings with amethysts that my sister gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago.

Pssst...!  Don't forget to enter my giveaway for a £30 fashion shop voucher.

Stunning Heidi Klum at the EMA's

Heidi Klum was the hostess of this year's MTV Europe Music Awards, and although newspapers such as Daily Mail wrote that “she certainly wasn't winning the battle of the red carpet” I thought she looked fabulous! You wouldn’t believe she was 39, would you?!

Heidi showed off a lot of cleavage and bare skin in the lace-up blue and gold studded Versace dress as she arrived on the red carpet, the first of 6 outfits she was wearing that night – all by Versace!

Before the show Heidi Klum said: 'I have six different outfits from Versace that I love very much and I think for an event like the MTV awards I usually have a little bit more fun, I can be a little bit more sexy, a little more rock 'n' roll.

It wasn't long until Heidi changed into her next dress, which was cream coloured and strapless with cut-out detailing. You can see the rest of the dresses below. Which one is your favourite? I really love the first, light blue one. It’s just really beautiful.

My Jeffrey Campbell designer shoes

I'm exstatic! I WON A COMPETITION! I never win anything. Actually - I've only won once in my life before, so when Glamorous contacted me and said I had won their facebook competition last week I was in shock. Absolutely speechless!

The shoes are designer shoes, made by noone else than Jeffrey Campbell, and are worth around £150. I've never owned a pair of designer shoes before, and I've never even spent close to that sort of money on shoes. I do believe in quality shoes, but I've never opted for designer shoes. Probably cause my bank account couldn't handle it!
The model is called Jeffrey Campbell Lita Spike, and they're black leather lace-up platform ankle boots with a big chunky heel covered in different sized studs. Definitely not my usual style, but I'll make them work ;)
I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to walk in the shoes as I'm not used to massive heels and definitely not platforms. But these shoes are actually fine to walk in. If you look at the angle of the shoe they're actually not that high, but most of the height sits in the platform - meaning you won't put too much pressure on your toes and the balls of your feet.
The platform is 2 inches (5 cm), while the heel is 5 inches (12,5 cm), so you're pretty much only wearing 3 inch (7,5 cm) heels. But do I feel tall in them, or what! My 165 cm suddenly turned into 177,5 cm!

You can find the Glamorous Facebook page here and go over to the Glamorous website if you want to have another look at the shoes and the rest of the Jeffrey Campbell collection.

Jeans and a jacket in two different ways

Same top, same boots, but different jeans and different suit jackets.
Lace vs leather?
Flared vs skinny?
Have a look for yourself and see which style you prefer.
I'd say the lace and flared style looks quite a bit more sophisticated, while the leather and skinny look looks more casual. Do you agree? By the way, the leather only sits on the collar, which you can see up close further down.
Lace and flared look:
Wearing a very detailed black lace jacket from New Look, and dark flared denim jeans from Next.
Leather and skinny look:
Wearing a black jersey like suit jacket with leather detail on the collar from Republic, and mid-blue denim jeans from Only.
Close up you can see the details of the different suit jackets - the fine details of the lace, and the leather collar. The top underneath is a mauve coloured vest top with lace detail from H&M.
Strike a pose!
I find it quite hard deciding which is my favourite style of the two. They're so similar but still different... I guess I'd chose according to the situation - slightly more sophisticated, or slightly more casual. Take your pick ;)
(Oh, and for anyone who's wondering - the boots are from Barratts.)
