Five times pale

-->
I love skirts. I'm a total skirt freak. I don't know what's happened to me, but these last few years I seem to have developed some kind of obsession for skirts. This summer I believe that I have bought not less than five skirts. Five!!! Or is it six maybe...?

Anyway... what I was going say was that I usually wear leggings or tights with my skirts -especially now when the summer's practically gone. (Not that we really had a summer in England this year anyway, but still...) I looked in my wardrobe the other day and found that I only had a pair of black tights, and that is a bit too wintery, isn't it?
I went out on a hunt for some normal tights -you know the see through ones that your legs look really nice and tanned in. I went to Marks and Spencer’s since I know they have quite good quality tights (that's where I bought my old black ones which I've had since last December -a long time for a pair of tights)

It wasn't easy, I'll tell you that. M&S has a whole section in their store with just tights. After some comparing between them all I went for a 5-pack called "natural tan". I thought they would go really well with my autumn outfits.
The choice had been between them ones and some "normal" ones, which almost looked grey..
. Ew! Who would actually want to have grey, old lady-like legs?

I put the tights on this morning, and in the dim light of the bedroom it looked alright.
Although, when I stepped outside in the sunlight I noticed how horrible it actually looked!
The "tanned" tights made my legs look über pale!
My natural tan was actually darker than the fake tan tights -and my legs have barely seen the sun at all this summer, and are - according to me -the palest they've ever been.

Guess that's the Scandinavian skin for you!
English "tanned" tights -go hang yourselves! (Too bad I bought five pairs...)

Call me boring, or call me comfortable

My last fashion rant was about girls not being able to walk in sky scraper high stiletto heels - believe me, I am one of them - and I must admit that I have utter respect for the ones who can actually walk in them without looking like Bambi on ice (or without twisting their ankles). Stilettos are for me just something to dream about. Sure, my feet look gorgeous in them, and as I wrote in my last post, I’m OK wearing them for an hour or so, but I guess I’m just too lazy when it comes to looking good sometimes. I just don’t think it’s worth being in pain to look good.
What I can walk in though, are shoes with wedge heels. They are so much more comfortable than normal heels, plus it does the job with making me taller. I’m not talking extremely high, super heavy, clumsy platform wedges here, but wedges that are more of a reasonable height and that are easy to walk in. The wedge heel gives the foot more of a support compared to normal heels, and you don’t have
to put all your weight on your toes while walking in them.

So call me boring, or call me comfortable - but by wearing a pair of shoes like these, I will be the one still standing when the night is over. Dancing away...

While browsing the internet the other day I found these two pairs of absolutely stunning wedges that I’m going to add to my mental wish list. They're both very me - the black leather ones are a bit more rocky, while the suede ones are more old fashioned and inspired by the style of the early 1900's. Love them!

Feet killing, to die for-stilettos

-->
You know when you’re out on a Saturday night, but you’re quite sober, and you look around and see all these over dressed girls walking, or actually staggering around, in their heels that are at least two inches too high… They have probably spent all week planning what to wear for this night out and probably all day getting ready. They think they look the best they ever have looked, and maybe they do… until the vodka kicks in, and the short skirts reveal a bit more than intended.
They can no longer walk in their high heels because of their burning feet and the alcohol messing with their balance, but tip toe half limping, looking like sad, wobbling creatures about to fall over any second. That’s when I ask myself why. Why?!
Sure, they say that we need to suffer to look good, (or at least that’s what my mum told me when I pierced my ears the day before my 8th birthday and I was complaining about the pain) and I can understand that. But looking stupid is something totally different. If you can’t walk in heels – don’t walk in heels!
I know I would look like the most stupid girl ever if I put a pair of stiletto heels on. I know that I wouldn’t be able to walk in them for more than an hour, and that is exactly why I don’t wear them. I know girls won’t stop wearing these feet killing things, and maybe you can’t blame them, because to be honest, shoes like that is a dream to look at. All I can do is to laugh at these girls in silence while passing them in my comfortable lower heels on a Saturday night...
