Twilight's Ashley Greene for Marie Claire

And talking about vampires… The most beautiful vampire in the world, Ashley Greene, covers the November 2012 issue of Marie Claire – just in time for the premiere of the last Twilight Saga film the 16th of November. I’m sure Kristen Stewart will make a stunning vampire, but Ashley definitely beats her when it comes to beauty.

Since the first Twilight film came out in 2008 Ashley Greene has been the young actress to keep an eye on. I’m sure she’ll make a flying career once the whole Twilight craze is over.

Ashley is wearing a blue leather jacket by Chanel on the cover of Marie Claire.

She’s modelling several outfits in her Marie Claire feature… all too posh and expensive to talk about in depth. I won’t be able to afford any of these garments in a lifetime! She’s showing off huge designer brands such as Antonio Berardi, La Perla, Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, Alexander Wang, Roberto Cavalli… an exceptionally star filled wardrobe indeed. Have a look for yourself – is she beautiful, or what? :)

Happy Halloween! - Vampire makeup

Happy Halloween!
With the whole vampire craze that’s going on at the moment with the Twilight saga, True Blood, etc… what better creature to dress up as than a vampire?

I know it’s a bit early, but most people took the chance to go out for Halloween parties this weekend.
I’m going to one next weekend, and since I wanted to include these über cool contact lenses in my outfit I just wanted to make sure that I’m alright to wear them.
I’ve never worn contact lenses in my life, so I was a bit worried about putting them in alright without crying my eyes out.
After having struggled to get just one of them in the other day I wasn’t too sure about including them in my outfit after all, but I gave it another try today and it went fine! I think I just needed to get used to poking myself in the eyes! :P

The contact lenses are from Vision Direct’s range of Phantasee crazy and Halloween lenses. I’ve chosen the Twilight ones – just in time for the new Twilight film that’s coming out in 2 weeks’ time as well. They’re orange with a black edge around them.
The great thing is that they last for about a year if you take care of them properly, so I can wear them both for this Halloween, and hopefully for the next one as well. At only £29 for this pair it’s a great investment for an awesome Halloween outfit.

Here’s a comparison of my natural green eye to the left, and the Twilight lens to the right.

I admit – I cheated a little bit with this Vampire makeup… the fangs are only Photoshopped on! ;)
Anyway – if you’re going for a Halloween party next weekend there’s still time to get your hands on a cool pair of freaky contact lenses.

Skin and hair care products I love

We all have those special beauty products we can’t live without. OK, not literally, but you know what I mean ;) These are my life savers:

A lot of Body Shop stuff, as you can see!
When I first moved over to the UK almost 3 years ago I suddenly got quite a bad acne, something that made me really depressed. I had never had anything like it before, but it was probably just my skin that reacted in a bad way to the new country. What has really helped me with that is the Tea Tree range from Body Shop. It took 6 months or so since I started using it, but after that the acne was all gone. Amazing! The little container in the front is the eye cream from Body Shop's Aloe range - great for my sensiive eyes.
For my dry hair I use moisturising shampoo and conditioner from Aussie (best brand ever!). Other than that I only use moisturising oil and dry shampoo to take care of my hair. The hair oil from Moroccanoil is fantastic, and it smells better than any hair product I’ve ever smelt. It’s alcohol free, which is a big plus. Just 1-2 pumps of this after washing (before blow drying) keeps my tips healthy and shiny.
For those mornings when I’m treating myself to a sleep-in and don’t have time to wash my hair my day is saved by Batiste dry shampoo.
I’ve got annoyingly dry hands, especially around my nails. The set Satin Hands from Mary Kay (where I used to work before) is a real saviour for that. The emollient night cream made of bee wax can be used as normal hand cream (but beware, it’s very greasy, so you want to stick to using it at night) or it can be used together with the apricot hand scrub. I usually rub some of the night cream on my hands first, and then put some scrub on afterwards – this makes the scrubbing more gentle. Wash off with only water (no soap) and put some normal hand cream on afterwards. It’s a real treat for your hands!

A foundation is not only used to make your skin look flawless, but it also protects the sensitive skin on your face against pollution. My favourite foundation and mineral powder are both from Body Shop.

What's your life saving beauty product?
