Classy wedding guest attire

As a Swede, I just have to mention something about the Swedish royal wedding that took place just over a week ago.

The youngest princess Madeleine finally got to marry her man, and look how breathtakingly beautiful she was in her gown!

This got me thinking… what would you wear if you were invited to a posh wedding? Perhaps not a royal one (as if I would EVER get invited to one of those!), but if you were to attend a really classy wedding, what sort of dress would you squeeze in to, and what accessories would you match it with?

I have chosen to create 3 different styles that I believe would be suitable to wear as a wedding guest. They are all of typical summery colour; light, lovely pastels.

The first one is of a nude hue. This lovely lace dress with ¾ sleeves is just perfect for a slightly conservative look that covers you up at the top, but still leaves you showing your legs off.

The second hue I’ve opted for is a gorgeous lilac colour. The dress is actually from a bridesmaid collection, but that doesn’t mean you have to be a bridesmaid to wear it! Pair it with accessories of the same hue but perhaps slightly darker. This outfit would be especially perfect for a June wedding when the lilac is blooming.

You shouldn’t wear something all creamy to a wedding with the risk of annoying the bride, but doubled up with another colour it’s fine. Just be careful with your choices! This cream bandage dress with elements of gold is just a dream! There is no need for a lot of accessories when you opt for a dress like this. A single blingy item is enough – I would do anything to get my hands on this gorgeous watch by Michael Kors!

Casual summer outfit

I’ve never really been a fan of yellow before. I actually considered it a really horrible colour, but ever since last year I’ve started liking it. It can’t be too bright though, but I’m sticking to yellow that is of the mustardy hue.

The weather last week was absolutely gorgeous – really warm and sunny. Since our dress code for work isn’t formal, but only semi-casual, I wore this simple summer outfit one day.

Both the skirt and the top is from Armani. Ehrm… I mean, “Primani” – aka Primark. Cheap finds, but since they’re only basic garments I really couldn’t care where they were from. I’m all for a budget outfit, as long as it looks good!

The skirt, which has a black base with a beige bow pattern, is of a light material which is just perfect for summer - and it has super cute different buttons on it! I think it matches the mustardy yellow boob tube really nicely, and I’ve finished it off with a pair of plain black leggings from H&M.

To accessorise this outfit I threw on a pair of light tan, faux leather/suede ballerina shoes with cut-out pattern from New Look, and a pair of ball earrings from Wallis that matches the yellow top perfectly.

Celebrity festival fashion

One of the most (if not the most) star studded festivals of the year is the American Coachella, which is a 3 day music festival in California.

This year, the Coachella festival took place between 12-14 April, and mingling in the festival crowd were celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Vanessa Hudgens, the Hilton sisters, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, Diane Kruger, and many more – all looking nothing but super stylish!

Whilst us “mortals” tend to look a bit rough after a couple of days at a festival, the stars were looking fresh and fashionable the whole weekend through.

Vanessa Hudgens looked like an oriental dream at 2013’s Coachella festival.

And look at the stylish Hilton sisters! I absolutely adore Paris’ multi-coloured, patterned bohemian style dress!

But then I guess it’s easy to look your best if you’re blessed with all year around Californian sunshine.
If you have attended any festivals in the UK you know it’s more likely you’ll be wearing thick jumpers, raincoats and wellies!
At a UK festival it tends to get very damp and muddy, and celebrities who attend these festivals are more likely to be seen in outfits such as this;

Kate Moss, however, looks stylish in whatever she wears. She was actually the one who started the whole festival fashion trend with wellies back at Glastonbury in 2005. Not any wellies though… it had to be Hunter wellies, as pictured, and celebs and fashionistas all over the country have adapted to this style.

Yellow and Blue

Happy Swedish national day!
Today I'm dressed in the colours of the Swedish flag; yellow and blue.
Believe me... I wouldn't have done this if I was actually living in Sweden, but since I'm not at the moment (and I am quite homesick) I decided to dedicate my outfit to my home country on this day.
The yellow dress is from Zalando, the blue cardigan is from New Look, and the Sweden globe necklace is from 2B Interior (a small interior+accessories shop in my Swedish home town.)

Summer outfit on a budget

After my post last week about how to wear summer dresses forcolder weather, I thought I’d show you another one of the summer dresses I bought for my sunny holiday earlier this Spring. Just as the purple bodycon one, I haven’t been able to wear this one on its own, but I’ve had to match it with something warmer – in this case a denim jacket. But I’m keeping the footwear summery!

This halter bandeau dress is from Boohoo, and is made of a light and sheer material in a double layer. The fabric has a graphic zigzag print in all sorts of colours, such as brown, yellow, pink and grey, and the dress is just perfect to wear on a hot summer’s day. Or like I’m doing today; with a cropped denim jacket of a light wash, from Primark.

The shoes I’m wearing, which are olive green strappy leather sandals with a cork wedge, are a few years old so you probably won’t find them in the shops this year. I had completely forgotten that I had them, but found them deep in the wardrobe at my parents’ house last time I was home. I had barely worn them before I tucked them away in that wardrobe, but I’m absolutely in love with them now, and they’re just the perfect summer shoes. These ones are from Deichmann, but I’m sure you’ll find similar ones in plenty of different shops this summer, as wedge sandals are always popular during the warmer months.

What do you think of this budget outfit of mine?
