On trend; lace dresses

Lace dresses have been very popular for quite a while now. I don't actually own one myself, but that's only because I've not found the perfect one yet! I've seen so many pretty ones in the shops in town, but none that has been my style really. Every girl should have a lace dress in their posession, and I won't give up looking until I find my perfect one! Right now I've got my eyes on these beauties. They're all gorgeous, but I must say the beige and black contrast dress is my favourite!

Lots of celebrities are being seen in lace dresses too, and have been for quite some time. One who has opted for the lace dress trend is Cheryl Cole. When she was seen in this contrast lace dress every fashionista out there wanted to create a similar look, and lots of shops started selling dresses of this style in different colours.

 

With it being Spring soon I thought I'd show you a white version of this dress, as I think light colours are to prefer when the weather's getting warmer, This particular dress is from City Goddess and comes in both white/black, and blue/black. 3 new beauty essentials

We all have our own personal beauty regimes – some spend barely any time getting ready in the mornings and still look fresh and pretty, whilst others spend ages. I’d class myself as being somewhere in between. I do spend quite a lot of time on my makeup, but barely even 2 minutes on my hair.

I’ve never actually really cared about my hair before. I’ve never been one to experiment with hairstyles and updos. I used to colour my hair in all colours from light blonde to pitch black, but I’ve now stayed blonde (which is the closest to my natural colour) for several years.

I have quite dry hair even if I don’t damage it with straighteners very often, which means that my ends split quite soon after I’ve had a haircut. Not ideal!

Lately I’ve discovered the wonders of hair oil though! I never thought I would use a product like this since you associate oil with grease, and no one wants greasy hair! But hair oil is seriously my saviour nowadays! This Schwarzkopf Professional BC Oil from the Miracle range is argan oil based, and is absolutely amazing. Just one pea sized drop makes your hair healthy and shiny. This product keeps my ends intact, and I’ve not had to cut my hair in months – and it still feels nice and fresh.

My other hair care essential is this restorative hair mask by Moroccanoil. You’re supposed to leave it in for 10 minutes once a week, but I would say 5 is enough. It makes your hair nice and smooth, and it smells absolutely amazing. Again, I would never have thought of using a product like this a few years ago since it’s oil based, but it works wonders on dry hair like mine. Here is my hair today - a lot healthier looking than it was 6 months ago!

 

My third beauty essential at the moment is this new loose powder eye shadow from Make Up Store. It’s called “goddess” and is of a lovely burnt brown colour – almost ruby. The eye shadows from Make Up Store are my absolute favourites – you can tell that they’re using high quality pigments. In these photos below I’ve mixed it with a little bit of gold shade at the inner corners of my eyes. 

Winter trend: studded embellishments

Today’s post is about my outfit from the weekend that just was. I was wearing this gorgeous black dress out for dinner on Saturday.The dress was kindly given to me by the lovely people at Lovarni, and it’s a perfect fit! This black pencil dress have some hints of silver in it, and I just love everything about it; the gathered details on the right hip, the cowl neck and the shoulder embellishments with the tiny studs. Very on trend, very stylish, and very flattering! It’s called “Take It Easy Smooth Operator Dress” from Traffic People, and usually retails at £74.99, but is now on sale for £34.99. Bargain! :) 

The stud trend is very popular at the moment, so I matched the dress with a little black party bag that I got from my sister and my mum for Christmas. The bag is made of black leather and is covered in small studs. To top it off it also has a really cool leather entwined metal chain that works as a strap. It’s just a perfect size for a party bag, and the long strap allows you to dance with both hands free. The bag is from the Swedish shop Lindex. 

As well as the bag, I also paired the dress with a pair of heeled black leather shoes with ruffled details at the front, as well as this chunky (and very heavy) metal necklace with a black stone – both bought in Sweden All black and silver!
