The female "urban lumberjack" look

Sunny days make me so happy. I know it sounds cheesy, but seriously - just opening up the curtains in the morning and realising it's a beautiful day - it's such a happy feeling :)
On this particular day I was also in an extra happy mood, and guess why... I had been doing some clothes shopping that week, and now was the time to show off my new wardrobe additions ;)
The pink and grey checked shirt, as well as the grey skinny jeans are both from Next. I think the shirt just screams "lumberjack", and matched with these other garments I sure feel like one! Although, a female, urban version of a lumberjack. I love this style actually! The shirt, by the way, is from Next's vintage collection, and it's my new favourite!
I've had these boots for a while, but I've never before featured them on the blog. Since my beautiful "witch boots" broke on me last year, I invested in these black faux leather fold-over ankle boots from Zalando. They're nowhere near as nice as my old ones, but they go great with a look like this - and they're super comfortable!
Beaming with joy! This was probably the last warm and sunny day of this year. (Can't wait til spring!)
What do you think of my "female urban lumberjack"-look? Do I pull it off? Would you opt for a similar look?
I matched this outfit with this super cute necklace I got from my mum for my birthday last month. It's like a little steel dogtag, that says "älskad" on one side, and "dotter" on the other - meaning "loved daughter" in Swedish, It's definitely my new favourite piece of jewellery. It's so simple, but at the same time so stylish. Although, it makes me miss my mum so much! Living in a different country than your family can be hard sometimes...

Red carpet style; Kristen Stewart's "On The Road" premiere

Kristen Stewart was seen last week stepping out on the red carpet for the New York premiere of her new film “On the Road”.
It was a surprise appearance, and the Hollywood star looked absolutely gorgeous!
She opted for an edgy look that matched her tomboy personality, with black ACL pants, a pair of heeled thong sandals by Jimmy Choo, baggy unbuttoned shirt from Balenciaga, and a simple vest top and white leather belt. In other words; an expensive outfit!

It’s great to see that Kristen Stewart attends these kinds of events, and isn’t afraid of showing herself in public after all the drama surrounding her lately. With the Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn part 2 coming out in November as well you can be sure to see a lot about her in the near future.

This is how you can achieve Kristen’s awesome red carpet look on a budget:

Loose style white chiffon shirt - Romwe £35
Black vest top -  H&M £3.99
Ankle length black trousers - H&M £15
Thin white oval buckle belt - Asos £6.90
High heeled shoes with metal detail - Dune £50
Black pearl velvet wristwear - Miss Selfridge £13
Square heart pendant necklace - Linda Macdonald £65

Other than the clothes, all you need to complete this rocky tomboy style is some smoky eye makeup.

Get the style of Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton became a living icon over night, and is known for her sophisticated but chic look. She has started a number of trends amongst UK women, and is a great role model for young girls. In this post, I have simply put together 3 Kate Middleton outfits that you can take inspiration from to achieve the royal chic look.

I've chosen to go for the royal purple hue to start with. This look consists of a fairly simple purple dress matched with black satin, and just the right amount of sparkle. Perfect for a fancy cocktail party!
Earrings: Kenneth Jay Lane
Bag: La Regale (endless.com)
Shoes: my-wardrobe.com
Brooch:1928.com

Who could forget this dress - the dress Kate wore when she showed her engagement ring to the world! And what better way to match a royal blue ring than with a necklace of the same style, a shiny dress of the same colour, and subtle black shoes (to not risk taking away the focus from all the blue!).
Dress: Issa
Necklace: 1928.com
Shoes: (same as the first outfit)

A slightly more casual look, if you could call it that. When is Kate ever looking casual? A green patterened cotton dress works perfectly as a day outfit matched with light colours of nude and cream.
Dress: Issa
Shoes: Jimmy Choo (net-a-porter.com)
Scarf: Luisa Viaroma
Bag: Valentino (theoutnet.com)

Do you agree with me that Kate Middleton is a living icon, and would you opt for her sophisticated chic style?

I've got butterflies

Just a tiny post to show you what lovely friends I’ve got! :)
These pretty items from Accessorize were gifted to me for my birthday.
Teal and mustard yellow have been two of my favourite colours this season, and this had been noticed by my friends, who got me a lovely handbag and purse in these exact colours – with matching butterfly clasps.
Thank you lovelies! :)

My Croatia holiday

It has been a couple of weeks since I came back from my holiday, but I thought "better late than never". Right? ;) Croatia was probably the most beautiful country I've ever visited, and I'd definitely recommend you to go there. I spent my birthday in this lovely country, and the 3 first pictures below are of me on this special day.

Enjoying the amazing view from a cliff bar just aoutide the city walls of Dubrovnik, wearing my sailor like dress from BANK.

At a restaurant in old town Dubrovnik celebrating turning 26 on the 26th for the only time in my life. What do you think of the waitress' skirt? I quite like it! It's very indian inspired with its brown suede fringes.
One of the many bikinis I brought on this holiday was an old bikini from H&M. I've had it for years, but I still love it.The top has got a brown and cream zebra print, and is perfect for sunbathing in as it doesn't leave white strap marks.
Ready for dinner in my coral red summery top from Primark, and my white ripped denim skirt from New Yorker. The shoes are from Seven Seconds
This is just outside our hotel in the picturesque harbour.
I only bought myself one this on my Croatia holiday, and that was these silver and turquoise earrings. I bought them off a woman who made them herself by hand with the tiniest silver thread. Note the super long silver thread on the back that you have to put through your ear! Very pretty earrings.

Armani Collezioni

So I’ve realised and accepted that Summer is now over, and Autumn is well on the way. Very sad actually… We didn’t even get any summer weather here in the UK this year, and now it’s already cold again! :( Lucky for me though, I went on two hot holidays this year – Mexico and Croatia. So I guess I shouldn’t complain…
A good thing about Autumn though is all the pretty clothes you get to wear. Autumn is actually my favourite season for fashion. I love a nice jacket, ankle boots, thick skirts, cosy cardigans and patterned tights. Yesterday was actually the first time since April that I wore socks, and it felt a bit weird. But, I’m sure I can get used to it again ;)
Now, I’m not saying I’m looking to buy something from Armani, (my bank account really couldn’t handle that) but I just came across their new collection from Armani Collezioni and I just love the sophisticated look of it, so of course I needed to share it with you guys. You can always do like I do, and dream…

I love this mix between a cardigan and a blazer. It looks super comfy but at the same time very stylish.

An outfit very casual to be from the Armani Collezioni - I love everything about it!

I imagine this amazing blazer was inspired by the 18th century or so, with their massive fluffy collars. It would be perfect for the office outfit.

Pssst… a tip for you guys; some online stores offer the Armani Collezioni for discounted prices (one of them being Whites Boutique). They might not have the whole collection in store, but it’s definitely worth having a little look around for some better prices. We all love bargains, especially when it comes to designer clothing.

The Liebster Blog Award

A bit of an unusual post… I was nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by the lovely Galy from The Stylist Post. THANK YOU! :D
So, this award has a few rules:
1. Each person must list 11 things about themselves.
2. Answer the 11 questions that the tagger has set for you PLUS you MUST create 11 questions of your own for the 11 people you will nominate with this award.
3. Choose up to 11 bloggers linking them to your post.
4. Go to their page and inform them of the nomination.
5. Absolutely NO tag backs.
6. Remember to ONLY tag bloggers with less than 200 followers

Phase One: Listing 11 things about myself….
1. I’m Swedish, but I’m now residing in England since 3 years back.
2. I used to work as a bartender many years ago, but I’ve still got about 100 drink recipes stuck in my memory. Piña Colada, anyone? ;)
3. I have the weirdest dreams and I sometimes wake up laughing at myself cause of my silly imagination.
4. I often think about what the first thing I would save would be if my house was on fire… I’ve come to the conclusion that I’d save my photo albums and my antique jewellery.
5. I used to compete in swimming when I was younger.
6. I dream of becoming an Art Director for a cool magazine.
7. I once got the chance to be a bikini model in the most popular Swedish teenage magazine… I’ve still not had the guts to post the photos on my blog!
8. I absolutely love cooking, and I see it as kind of a therapy - a way of calming myself down after a stressful working day.
9. I’ve become obsessed with Zumba, and I see it as my highlight of the week. I never knew exercising could be that much fun! :D
10. I have 4 tattoos… all in brown colour, and people always think it’s henna.
11. I have 2 major things I want to do in the next few years - I want to try skydiving, and I want to get a MC licence.

Phase Two: I’m answering Galy’s questions…
1. Who’s your icon?
I know most people would probably say a legendary icon here such as Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn… I want to say Charlize Theron – she’s a living icon, and is according to me one of the most beautiful women in the world.
2. What’s your favourite garment?
I love knee-high boots – they’re so flattering when wearing them with short skirts or dresses.
3. What movie character would you be?
I’m a sucker for Sex and the City, so I would say Carrie Bradshaw.
4. What’s your sign and do your sign characteristics match your own?
I’m a Virgo. Apparently they’re supposed to be perfectionists, discriminating, down to earth, analytical, helpful… I’d say I’m a typical Virgo as I can relate to all of these characteristics. I don’t know if that’s a good thing…
5. What’s your fave Disney movie?
I love Disney and dedicated a whole blogpost to Disney hairstyles which you can see here. I think I’m gonna have to say Beauty and the Beast is my favourite.
6. Where in the world would you like to live?
I just moved countries 3 years ago (from Sweden to England) and now I’m starting to get homesick, so I’m gonna go for Sweden. Although, I always dreamed of living somewhere slightly warmer than northern Europe… somewhere like Italy.
7. Which celebrity you think has the best style?
So many to choose from! I like Kiera Knightley’s style, as she has lots of different styles. Everything from casual rock chis to sophisticated lady.
8. Which shoes do you prefer?
I love ankle boots with a small/medium heel – they’re so versatile and work for most seasons.
9. Are you a coffee or a tea person?
Definitely coffee! Strong and black with some sugar. We’ve got a Starbucks in my office building, and I’m a regular customer ;)
10. Where do you get your inspiration?
From travelling and reading – whether it’s books, magazines or other blogs.
11. Do you like pets?
I’m a cat person, and if I could I would adopt every stray cat I saw and become a “crazy cat lady” like the one in the Simpsons ;) I’m currently looking to get myself two little kittens.

Phase Three: My questions to you…
1. When did you start up you blog, and what were your reasons for setting it up?
2. State something you’re passionate about.
3. What is your dream destination you’d like to travel to, and why?
4. Do you prefer books or films?
5. How do you motivate yourself to keep blogging?
6. If you could have played a part in an already made film, what film and character would you choose?
7. What is your dream job?
8. Do you have a favourite quote or song lyrics, and if so – what is it?
9. Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever met?
10. How would you describe your style?
11. Who’s your celebrity crush?
